Hotter than the 4th of July

Greetings all. According to Weather.com, it's presently 92° F; feels like 93° F in Atlanta. "Feels like 93° degrees." What in the heck is that supposed to mean? I don't know about you, but I don't think I actually know the difference between 92° and 93°. Hot is hot, and though I'm barely able to eat anything today (third day of irritated tummy misery), I don't think I'm missing much beyond the coolness of my front door.

Today, I happen to be finishing up an anthology entitled Three Classic African-American Novels, edited, and with an introduction, by William L. Andrews. For all you African-American literature, history, and socially enlightened beings among us, check it out. Though, perhaps it's the varying unconscious who may derive the most from a thorough reading of this piece. But, for those of you cognizant Americans who simply prefer a "lighter" read (no offense intended to the writer), Amy Hempel’s Collected Stories will take you there.
After reading Lucia Silva’s (book buyer for Portrait of a Bookstore in Los Angeles, California) review of Hempel’s stories, I’ve already decided to check her out, literally. Be sure to read the excerpt!

Alright. Drum roll please...

Hello!

Hi, my name is Sepia, and I'm a bibliophile. And, since you're actually investing the time to read this blog, there's a slight chance that you may also be one.

Though books are one of my preoccupations and most books contain lots of words, I'm suddenly at a loss for words. Ironic.

Alright. At the risk of totally tainting my very first blog post, I'll simply close this quick introduction with: "Hi my name is Sepia, and I'm a bibliophile.

Welcome to my blog about, what else, books! Maybe next time I'll have something much more original to say like, "Hey, have you read any good books lately?"
